About Louise – Clinical Psychologist
I’m Louise, a Clinical Psychologist registered with the HCPC and based in Surrey. I completed my Clinical Psychology doctoral training at Salomons in Tunbridge Wells in 2000.
I’ve worked in NHS adult mental health services across Surrey, including a role as Clinical Lead for the YMCA, and worked as an in-house psychologist at a London law firm. From 2009 to 2021, I founded and led Psychology Direct before launching my own private practice in 2022. I offer assessment and therapy to individuals aged 16+, supporting people experiencing a range of life challenges.
Why work with me?
Extensive Clinical Experience
With over 25 years across NHS, charity, and private settings, I bring both solid clinical expertise and a compassionate, person-centred approach.
Evidence-Based & Warm
I blend Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), and relational therapy approaches—all tailored to what you bring to our sessions.
Empathy at the Core
Building trust through genuine connection is central to my practice. My aim is to understand your experiences deeply and support you without judgment.
Convenient & Accessible
I primarily offer online therapy for privacy and flexibility, with face‑to‑face sessions in Leatherhead available on request. I also provide a free 15-minute introductory call, giving you space to ask questions and see if we’re a good fit, with no obligation.
I’ve lived in Surrey for most of my life and am a mother of three grown‑up children. I understand how transitions—like parenting, career changes, health issues, or loss—can impact mental wellbeing.
My approach combines warmth and grounded support to help you feel heard, understood, and empowered on your journey.
Testimonials
“Before therapy, I felt lost, unsure of myself, and at times unworthy. Through Louise’s guidance, I’ve learned that it’s okay to be me—and why I think and act the way I do.”
“One of the most life-changing aspects of our work was how she helped me accept my ADHD. Instead of something to fix, she showed me its strengths—turning what I once saw as a flaw into a superpower.”
“Louise gave me clarity and understanding around a difficult breakup, and helped me improve my family relationships—which are now in a much better place.”
